RE: rattling bag or rattling antlers
Real antlers are the best by far. I have a set of the fake ones too and they sound to "plastic-ie" (yeah how do you spell that one) I got a set of the primos rattle bag a week or so ago. I've rattled up a button buck and 4 does in two sittings with it. It soulds better than the plastic horns IMO. Hopefully big boy shows up next!!

RE: rattling bag or rattling antlers
I prefer a rattling bag just because it is easier to bring with, and easier to use if you have a buck near you. My bag seems to work fine, seeing as I rattled in a 109'' and a 162'' last year.

RE: rattling bag or rattling antlers
i like real antlers the best, and not just any size either, they have to be from at least a nice size 2.5 yr old or 3.5 yr old....i think some professional hunters use the bags b/c of their sponsors.....but i do think the bags work also.

RE: rattling bag or rattling antlers
i think a real set of antlers are the best. but my dad likes the bag, and we hunted the same property last nite. i could hear him rattling, and it didnt sound bad. i like how you can just tickle the tines together wit a real set though.

Rattling bag for sure, smaller and easy to carry. Have used it in last two days and rattled up seven bucks. It works great with grunts mixed with the rattling bag.

RE: rattling bag or rattling antlers
I like the bag for portability. I've rattled in one deer though so I can't say much to it's effectivness. I ended up throwing mine out because the bag and or sticks inside started to stink real bad.

RE: rattling bag or rattling antlers
I use the bag and have great success with it. This is my 3rd year rattling and every year I rattle in numerous bucks. Most are immature 1.5 and 2.5 yr. olds and the mature deer usually stay some distance away looking for the fight. Last week was the first time I ever had 2 mature bucks come into my rattling within bow range. I was using a decoy along with the setup too.
My dad uses the real antlers, and they sound better IMO. He has nothad any more luck than I when it comes to rattling though. They require more movement though, harder to pack, and are a little more difficult to use. To me the bag is the better all around option. |
RE: rattling bag or rattling antlers
I usually take real antlers out there, they sound better and you can do more with them. I will however take the bag if im only bringing a few things out in the woods with me.
