(UPDATED Pics Added!!!)Hit One Lastnight, Tracking This Morning
 

Well I hit a cull buck I have been after for a 3-4 years lastnight, he never amounted to anything for a rack. I began tracking lastnight right about dark, I shot him around 5:15. The amount of blood that came out of this buck when the arrow hit. I was sure he wasnt going far, it was like a bullet hit him, it litteraly poured out of him. as you can see in the pics. Well we tracked fro a while lastnight and had excellent blood for the longest time and then it started to disperse. So we backed out and are going back out this morning. The shot looked like it shoudl have been a good lung shot, but theres no pink frothy blood. We did get to one sport where he had laid down and found where he must have laid his head down, there was a good amount of foam "drewl" in one spot. Im not sure how this old cull buck is managing to get very far but he is. I will update you when I get to work. I only have untill 930-1000 today to him. For some reason I cant seem to figure out where all my blood trail pics went from my camera. I can only find 3 out of about 10 or so, the rest didnt save to the card????? Heres the 3 I got but they arent the greatest.

That is a dead deer ya got there from looking at the bloodtrail. They are amazing animals that can go along way on adrenaline alone.

actually this is only the second shot i have had on a buck this year..ohh yea to update everyone else the one I shot at on sunday night is still running around the woods, my arrow hit a limb, i just grazed his brisket. I walked within 35 yards of him yesterday in the cornfield on my way to my stand lastnight.

With a trail like that he was probably only a few feet away from where ya stopped. We want pictures and a full story when you find him! Good Luck!

Is it just me or does that blood look really dark?....I am thinking he was at more of an angle than you thought, or the arrow deflected back....caught one lung then the liver, gutson the way out?....regardless he is dead, now find him.

You won't necessarily get that from a single lung.

From the pic of the spray on the sampling though (and well past it), it sure seems like something major was hit. Coulddefinitely be a major vessel.

I'd expect a recovery.

Good news we did find him not far from where we quit lastnight. Even better news, there was nothing left of his heart???Its like it exploded. Never seen anything like that with a bow. It was slightly quartered away. I have never seen blood spray out of a deer like this one upon the shot. it was like taking a canof paint and dropping onto the ground from 100 feet up. I will post pics of him tonight. Heres the kicker, this buck only has 4 or 5teeth left on the bottom and absolutely no teeth on the top. How could this buck even have survived?? We are guessing 5 1/2 - 6 1/2 years old maybe older and going down hill quick.. Wont know for sure till we totally pull the jaw. We havent put him on the scale yet but were guessing 160-165 lbs. This is the same buck I have been trying to take out of the heard for quite sometime, how I know this is because he has a large amount of white on one hoof, the others are all dark.

Deer don't have top teeth, except in the back.
