shooting alittle higher from a stand
 

i have heard some of you talk about aiming for the exit hole what do you mean

should i aim a little higher then i would ground level since i am at a high angle if so up much higher say at 20 yards 12 feet high

Typically, when you elevated you actual gain yardage, for instance 21 yards might equate to 20 at ground level from 20 feet up.At 12 feet, the variation would be minimal. With regard to aiming for the exit hole, if you visually draw a line of the arrow passing through the deer, think abouthow high you must aim to get the arrow to exit as you imagine from your elevation. I'm sure some a little better with words might be able to explain it a little better. Best of luck.

Don't aim higher. I aim low and still hit alot of deer higher than I like too.

This is where practicing from a stand b4 season comes in handy. You know exactly how you are shooting and can accomodate for any raise in elevation when the time comes

I practicethe closeshots alot off my roof. I shoot (single pin)one inch high if the deer is about 5 yrds out.
I am glad I did, that very shot payed off this morning! Just bend at the waist and practice from different yardage!

visualize where the arrow will exit and aim for that . also bend at the waist ,if you drop your arm instead it will change your shot placement

First off, know where you hit in a stand before taking the shot. And usually you will hit a little higher in the stand. I aim at the heart, and 80% of the time hit right above it.
