Hunting boot advice
This may not be the right forum for this question, but this is where I spend my time. I am looking for a new pair of boots. I am thinking around 400 grams of Thinsulate, and they must be waterproof. Also light weight and good tread would be good. I don't really wanna spend over $150 either. Cabela's has a pair for $100 that look alot like tennis shoe/hiking boot crossover. They are called the "full draw". If anyone has experience with these or opinions on others, let me know.
Thanks, Erik |

RE: Hunting boot advice
The Cabelas version of the LaCrosse Alpha's.
Had a pair for three years now. Best boots I've ever worn. I am going to buy a new pair some time soon and it will be these again. |
RE: Hunting boot advice
WARNING: If you buy those Cabelas make sure you have about a week or twoto leave them outside. If it rains even better. Let the insides fill up with rain water too. Mine stunk like factory rubber so bad I was afraid to use them. Seems kind of silly to wear head to toe carbon clothing an then get busted by stinky boots. I got some advice on this board and left them out in the rain and sun for over a week. They still smell a bit but not nearly as bad as they did when I bought them.

RE: Hunting boot advice
Have some Muck, lacross and Wolverines. The first to are really waterproff, the wolverines claim to be, there not, but comfortable and good up to damp weather. None cost me more than a hundred bucks. All good boots. I think the cabela's are heavier.

Muck Boots? There the best, Light weight, h2o Proof. But why only 400grams of Thinsulate? It gets Mighty cold up in your area?
