So I have been hunting a place 15 minutes from the house and now the buddy that I got permission from to hunt it told me that the land owner doesnt want anyone down there anymore. Now I hear from someone else that he just told me that because I got a pic of anice buck on a game cam of mine and he wants the chance at it. Kinda ticks me off but theres really nothing I can do about it. Let me know what you think the buck would score.
I had the same thing happen to me? And he's my wife cousin! He daid the farmer was putting a stop to all hunting? So i called the farmer and talked to him, and he said nothing about that. Wow was i pissed, when he called me (COUSIN), and ask me if i wanted to go with him and hunt another woods(Public Land), I said i already had plans, and that i would probably not hunt with him anymore, He said why, and i told him what the Farmer said, and he hung up on me? Wow go Figure(Family).......I have killed 3 nice buck there the bigest being in the 140's Thats why, because he's killed 1 deer and it was small yearly?Plus he's scared of the dark, and would always want me to walk him to his stand, Now i know why he was always back at the truck before me, on eveing Hunts...

Had something similar happen to me a few years back when I got permission for me and a friend of mine and was told nobody else has asked to hunt this piece of ground. Well my friend had gone out there and set up about 10 stands and had seen some really nice deer not to mention one that would have gone 170" easy and next thing we know stands are starting to show up, I asked the farmer he told me he didn't know of anyone else that had asked permission, well it turned out to be a neighbor that shares a pond with him for water for his cattle and he wanted all the rights to the ground for hunting because he let this guys cattle drink from his pond, needless to say we were removed from the property but not before my friend scored a 173" Non-Typical from it . Man was the neighbor mad when he heard stories of that[:-]. I do believe now that the neighbor is selling hunts off that property makes me wonder if the landowner knows????

Money does wonders to some people :)
You mean big bucks do wonders to some people. I've seen deer bring out the worst in people. Years ago, I spotted a real nice8 pointer on our hunting property that I nicknamed "petey"...the little rascals dog...because of a white circle around his left eye. Well, I made the mistake of telling my so-called hunting buddy where "petey" was entering a corn field. The very next day, he went and hung a stand very close to the exact spot I told him I seen the buck enter the field. I couldn't believe it. If it was the other way around, and he told me about a nice buck he seen in a certain area, I would say go get 'em and hunt elsewhere. Well, he never did get "petey" and neither did I. 2 weeks ago I seen another nice buck in our area. There's 3 people that know about him. Me, myself and I :)

Nice deer, but certainly not worth losing a friend.I would do this, knock on theland owners door, don't mention what your friend said, just introduce yourself as your buddies friend andtell him you were hunting the property with your friend who said it was ok,and you just wanted to take time to introduce yourself so that he would know who is on his land.

If what your friend said is true, the land owner will waste no time letting you know, but if he was lying, the land owner will probably respect you for taking time to meet him, and you may have hispermission rather than just your so called buddies.

Good luck!

I agree about a 140" max, nice buck who cares about score. In ur comment u said ur buddy gave u permission, doesnt sound like a buddy to me. I would get the owners information and ask for permission ur self. In the future keep that to ur self untill u harvest it and then give out a different location of the kill. Not much honor and dignity anymore... Good luck in the future.
