I hunted a spot this year where on any given day I counted btw 5 and 36(yes thirty-six) deer in a 1/2 days hunt. Know how many shots with a bow I got??? Exactly 2. Go! It's a helluva challenge picking and drawing on a doe with 4 of her playmates sniffing and watching with her!More Eyes=more DIFFICULT!

If you haven't practiced from that high you might want to try and figure out how to get a couple of practice shots in...else using the hoizontal distance from you to the deer instead of the total distance is pretty close to the truth. I.e., if you are 10 yards up the tree and the deer is 15 yards away from the base of the tree, then use a 15 yard pin. beprepn

Charlie P, I got a big ol doe earlier with my muzzle loader. I aint got one with my bow yet.

Yall who talked about more eyes to watch, your right. It will be difficult but if they come in the way they have for Jeff then I should be able to draw when they walk behind some bushes that will be on my left.

beprepn, I use one pin for out to 20 and all shots in this area should be within 20. I am going to range some trees or rocks or stumps and stuff like that. Do yall think I will be OK to shoot if I do that. I dont have a way to shoot down 30ft. usless I pack in a target and have someone take it out before I sit down to hunt out at Jeffs stand.
Thanks

Better thin 'em out a little there. I read that a mature doe has a 40% chance of having twins and a 20% chance at triplets. They will come back from your harvest.

My brother took me on a hunt at his mother in laws last season and told me that the deer come running like a dinner bell going off when the automatic corn feeder went off. Naturally I thought he was exagerrating so when I set up I shot the first deer I saw even before the feeder had gone off. So with one deer down I sat so as not to mess him up and had I believed him just a bit more i would have been more patient and selective cause when the feeder went off it &quot;was&quot; like a dinner bell. I could have shot a 150lb doe had i waited. Yes, with deer there is no such thing as a sure thing but if you are told you have a high percentage shot at one you &quot;have&quot; to go. Go for it brother!

I'd get packing and go!! Sounds like with all those doe in that small of an area, Mr. bowinkle can't be too far away!! 30 feet in a tree??? Not this kid. 15-18 is more than enought for me. God bless ya.

WELL, this thread was started 4 days ago. I've seen or heard no reports of Massive deer slaughters. I guess from that we can conclude that a sure thing.... isn't. A slam dunk.... can be botched. AND.... Murphy is still on the job.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
