This board is getting way to bad about locking up threads.You guy's are going to run everybody off

Running people off? Maybe, but I doubt it. There is another side to that coin. Seeing that the moderators have started enforcing forum rules again is why I came back.

Arthur can you plz tell me what rules you think were broken? I know the heated my bow is better than your bow gets real old but you can find things out about a product that way.

I would say there was a number of the rules broken.

The threads that were locked had violations of rules 4 and 6, with a smattering of 3's. This thread will probably be locked too, because it's a violation of #5.

#5 yes 4 & 6 could mean anything we say, so we cannot say 1 thing bad about any product or hunting practice? #3 is a toughie meaning you can only say good things about a product.So if all we can talk about is "good products" and "good hunts" why so many forums? In this case we could get by with one.

To me, Rob, Frank, Matt, and Chad are the only mods that should be allowed to lock up my posts.
All the other Mods can't appreciate my humor. :)
I guess, some people might think I dislike Eastwood and Davidmil from my digs at them on the other posts.
I enjoyed joking around with them, no harm intended.
Didn't mind Eastwood's digs at me at all.
He's alright in my book.
Actually, unlike some folks, I love the arguments and name calling at the Bowsite.
It cracks me up at times to see people call each other idiots, stupid, dumba** and so on.
Yeah, I admit it. I have a sick sense of humor.

It's a change of pace from the sameness found at most other sites.

If I lock a post there will ALWAYS be an explanation within that post as to why I took the actions I did. I do that so you ALL know who locked it and why, and if you disagree you can e-mail me. If I move or delete a topic the poster receives an e-mail from me explaning. When you have the member volume we have here there will always be someone unhappy, it's impossable to please everyone all the time. You see I even left this post open. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>. You have to releize this is not that other board you mentioned, this is a family site with many young people. We do want to be a possitive influence on our young don't we? Please keep in mind what and why we are trying to do here. My e-mail is open to everyone and anyone that wants private discussion on something. I myself was run off by what this board was turning into and was asked to moderate and help bring it back to what it once was. I accepted because I was like you, on the other side of the coin and my heart is here so I knew what the problems were and am trying my best with the help of all the other moderaters to make it happen. I know we are makeing progress because of the e-mail I do receive. Just my thoughts.

I post less than I used to due to some of the crap that gets going but I still think it should be allowed and you guys who monitor this stuff should remember how you felt about the little puke who got to be the hall monitor. If it gets foul or threatening then cut it. If it is exposing an unethical or unscrupulous hunting business then let it go. If that business happens to be a sponsor then get rid of them and walk the talk. My $.02 and thanks for the forum.

I always have to scratch my head when a member blatently breaks rule #5 ("No discussion or challenge to our editing policy are allowed within the forums.") by starting a thread about how they don't see where any rules were broken in another thread that was edited, moved, or deleted.

When I first started hitting this site it was full of info and some good stories. Theres still alot of that that I look at and reply to every once in awhile. I might post a topic too. I was hitting regular and just started again cuz my hunting seasons almost over. I like this site and the people, but Ive been noticing some stuff on here that doesnt belong or relates to the forum, which is cool cuz everyone wants to post or learn or whatever. where not here to fight with each other!! u can get that in chat rooms. were hear to talk about success,and archery. I think some of us need to go spend a day in the woods and take a deep breath and think about this sport and why we love it. In fact im going now.. cant get enuff. Just thought id post my opinion.

I started coming to this site about 3 years now. I've seen this forum go through many changes and frankly I miss what it was when I first came. I get feedback all the time and I usually try to do what is best for the forum and/or the majority.

Years ago we had few forums, now we have many so you should be able to find the correct forum for your thread. If it isn't bowhunting, don't put it in bowhunting. The Hunting/Politic forum gets as heated as anyone needs so don't do it in bowhunting. OFFSEASON is a blanket forum for anything that doesn't fit into any other forum.

This is a family forum in my opinion. I see anyone from our seniors to our 12 year olds and females of the same age. Everyone should keep that in mind while posting.....the person you may attack for lack of knowledge or a misdemeanor might be a 12 year old young lady looking for the right answer....

I like a debate as well as anyone....and if our senior members remember the begining...right Maytom, NY Hunter...lol, we've all come full circle but personal attacks can be done off the forum.

I moderate with these two questions in my mind....Is this bowhunting related? and If I had a 12 year old daughter, would I want her to read and learn by this post? The second I sometimes overlook because I don't have a child, but I used to be one. The first takes priority.

Like MDB mentioned, we can't please everyone and sometimes I/we will make a wrong decision...we're human but I feel we have the best forum on the web today...I'd like to see it continue. Many friends have been formed here, many get togethers happen, hunting opportunities have come and I've witnessed sharing, prayers, and money sent to those in need. Let's get back to the old forum and talk bowhunting.......all else is irrelevant.
