Default Scent Killer Odor

This may sound like a stupid post but, here goes. I always spray down everything (bow, release, pack, myself, and so on...) before i go into the woods. Today i took a smell of my bow and my arows and got a strong vinegar smell from all of my equipment. The only thing i could think it was from was the scent killer. Should i be wipeing down my equipment everytime i get out of the woods? If so, what should i wipe them down with? Warm water and then spray them back down before i go out? Just wondering what everyone else does.
