Jackalope hunting something I haven't done in years, fastest little animal I have ever seen. Saw one jump 15 feet in the air, and what a nice rack on it. HNI Jim if you ever get the chance to go, do it now.

It makes you wonder if you can breed a tiger and a lion and get a liger, can you breed a deer with a antelope and get a Dantelope? What would be the seasons?
I'm sure this is a joke, but I'll bite anyway. North American Pronghorn which isn't actually an antelope, it's actually a goat would not be able to breed with a deer. I wonder if you could cross breed them with a domestic goat though???? When I was little we had a heard of mule deer that stayed on the property with one whitetail doe that was always with them.

Took a nice Jackalope 2 years ago in Wyoming. Damn thing was sittin in a pasture, about 63 yards away. Any how, I had a good wind, so I put my 75 yard pin about 3 feet low and struck him a little high. Wouldn't you know the sumbeech took off straight at me! That's right, I was charged by a freekin Jackalope! Not having time to knock another arrow, I pulled out my bowie knife, just in time might I add. Those suckers are FAST! I managed to get him with the first swipe. I wish you could've seen the fury in his eyes. It was later determined that he had contracted mad Jacks disease, thus the reason for his charging me.

I always thought it would be cool to breed deer with those fainting goats.
That way all you would have to do is make a loud noise and they fall over, run up and get your picture taken and they wake up later. Kind of a catch and release hunting. Might make it pretty easy for the predators though.

Im sure HNI Jim will tell us he got one soon. Go to the right spot and you can get one pretty easy. The problem is he won't be able to show us any pictures after the hunt! Guess we'll have to take his word on it....

I was watching a program and they said that the Mule Deer is a cross breed between a whitetail and a blacktail.

On a side note, couple of years ago I found a shed of a jackalope. At first I thought it was some twigs but the more I looked, I realized what I had. Then I saw its hole not too far away. Mean little thing. When it saw I had its shed, it chased me down through the woods. I thought it had rabies or something. But as soon as I dropped the sheds, he gathered them in his mouth and went back to his hole. I have only been back there once or twice since then. I have seen the rubs but no more sheds.
