i saw 3 does across the field (right by my other stand) and i bleated. they ran strait to me within like 10 seconds. the buck that i shot later in the day also came in after i bleated. so seems to be working well right now, at least for me.

It's not too early, like was already said, deer are vocal all the time. Ihad a forked horn opening morning under my standgrunting up a storm at nearby deer. He wandered off and I could hear him grunting the whole way.
