First Day Out!
Today I went out for my first time. I really didn't know what to expect since I never hunted or anything and I was by myself. But I had the day off and there are some public woods behind my house that I though would be good for my first couple times out. I walked in to the woods around quarter to 6. Now,being that it was my first time I figured that I'd leave my treestand at home since it was kind of last minute and did really scout for a place to put it yet. So I took a matte black steel folding chair that I had and set up next to a big tree for some cover. There I am still dark out. Around 6:30 it started to get light out, I could see about 10-20 feet and not really good. At around 6:40 a doe ran in from my left to the right of me and stop no more than 15 ft away from me. I started to draw my bow and it startled and ran off. I look to my left and a nice size (I guess anyway, don't know really. In time) buck is following her I start to draw my bow again and he just prances by. No more than 10 ft. I was so nervous I try to make to stop him by saying hey but he just kept going. I was so upset at my self. But atleast I know a good spot to put my stand for next time. So I'll be out there again tomorrow. Hope they come by again.
