Personally, if some redneck idiot is willing to shovel up a bloated roadkill, then proceeds to field dress thehalf-rottencarcass, and poke a broadhead through the ribcage... AND THEN has the stones to drag it to the check station to claim it as his own, and "earn" his buck tag - IMO he has earned it. LMAO

I think you guys are reading wayyyy too much into this.

Quite simply, this is Grade-A entertainment, and should be encouraged.

I'd say do nothing. The vast majority of hunters....at least 95% IMO are good honest people that wouldn't do this anyway. It's just like anything else. There's always a bad apple.

The guys that think they might be EAB the following season should be smart enough to take a doe the season before. Simple. I believe we need to be "herd control" for 2 years before the unit can to EAB.
I disagree, I think there are many more folks not following the process then you think. Good people for the most part they just don't agree with the drn.

In my unit it will be every other year for earn a buck, which is fine by me. It is not beneath me to take a doe or two or three. I even told guys that were complaining about it that they could take doe of my prop. They declined
I agree with Copper. It's probably a given thatUnit58will be EAB before long. And we take a ton of does every year. Of 8 guys we had 13 deer that went home last year and of those, one was a dandy 10 ptr, one scrubby 6 with half his rack split ormissing, a spiker, and the rest does.

If we had to deal with every other year status, I'd be OK with that.

Yes, there are some very bad things people do. I remember hearing talk about how 5 people would register the same doe a few years ago. then they all cut ears now thankgod.

i am in 74A and have bought 2 extra EAB doe tags. i hunt down here where i live in the CWD, people down here slaughter everything in public land, but thats what the dnr wants. as far as the meat thing for food pantrys, i am thinking about donating a doe or 2 this year, but i have friends and want them first, so if i get up to the 5 doe range, thats what i will be doing. i dont think its wrong that i am taking does fromt he EAB where we practice QDM and shoot mature bucks down here if they come into bow range.

First off the dnr wants a guy to check in a doe first. Guy burns a tag on road kill. I don't see the problem. Dead doe, guy pays for it. I know it's not the way it's supposed to be but the results the same and I doubt it happens all that often.

Second, I'm on the list with the local law and they have called me in the past with road kill. Aint nothing wrong with that meat let me tell you.

Third, I have no respect for TV and they would have nothing to show on air after they shoved a camera in my face. I concider it to be the biggest poison this country has to worry about, and I'd say so several different ways before they had a chance to utter butbutbut.

Understand something. They don't care if you talk bad about them. Say whatever you want, doesn't matter, just as long as your talkinhg about them their happy. Don't give them the satisfaction. It cost them in advertising if you don't ever respond to them at all.

Me, never watch the stuff. If someones trying to sell me something they'd be better off doing it another way than tv.

When we had some meetings around the state several years back in PA, when the new regs and stuff were being explained, the topic of EAB came up and that was one reason for them not to institute it was because of the fear of roadkills being checked in.

Rybo - You're definitely right - if we had EAB here in PA - there would behundreds ofroadkill does checked in, and sooner or later some dumb schmuck would get caught... Oh my god, that would be hysterical.

Something tells me that's a Scarlet Letter that would stick witha guyfor a while. LMAO

You should at least get a free t-shirt or something.

"I might be a redneck because Ichecked in a rotten roadkill
to earn my buck tag!"
