first deer with bow in KY
 

well i went hunting last night and i saw plenty of deer and the one deer ive been chasing all year long but nothing would come close..well i had a doe come into range before dark and i drew back and shot while she was moving, i thought i missed her because it was getting too dark to try and find my arrow..well i went out this afternoon found my arrow with blood on it, i found the doe 200 yards away in a creek as stiff as a board, i had a gut shot on heri was soo freakin upset, i know its just a doe but damn!!! sorry no pictures it was raining to hard for the camera. thanks for all yalls tips and hoipefully i will get the biggun ive been chasing soon

Congratz, the old gut shot isn't the best thing to be proud of, i've experienced that my self one time but i didn't find my deer.

Hopefully you see that one you've been chasin

Congrats on your 1st. I'm glad you found her butI'm not a big fan of thisthinking.Its not "just a doe".

p.s. try not to shoot at a moving animal!

try doing a grunt or even just yell at it like saying hey lol(might not always work but it does help a little)

and if it doesn't stop don't shoot unless its going like .0001 mph ;p;

I had my first expierence last year while shooting it when it was walking and i shot the deer in the but and i hit a artery. It ran 40 yards and droped dead. But try not to shoot it in the butt.
That made me so mad I didn't even want to look at the deer. But i got it and the thing that sucked was the back leg got all busted and we had to throw the back leg away.

So do not shoot while its moving.

i tried to whistle at her and she wouldnt stop moving, she was to occupied with getting to the couple hundred pounds of corn!! i did make some poor judgement by shooting but hey ive always hunted with rifles!! Any hints for the rut to get the big guy?

i agreejanesburg it is not just a doe its a deer

congrats the only other thing i found wroung was you shoot at a moveing animal at almost dark but i am sure i would if i could see the deer
and that you waited till the next afternoon to go look to see if you got her
