nocturnal deer

I just bought my house about a year ago. I live on 2.5 acres and behind me is about 100 acres of woods in michigan. I put in a food plot with clover in the spring and added a feeder in august. the deer have been hitting it like crazy. I have my trail camera taking pictures of good size bucks. Only problem is the deer are coming in after dark. I have spoke with neighbors and they said the 100 acres is hunted well during the gun season and there have been reports of poaching at night. With the rut right around the corner is there anything I can do to get the deer in earlier than darkness? If so please explain. good hunting!

RE: nocturnal deer

You could try a scrape dripper filled with estrous whiz, but it sounds like those bucks have been conditioned to lay low until nightfall. One thing you could try is to provide some cover on your side, it doesn't take much to hide a deer, try planting some honeysuckle for cover and browse. Once the guns start banging those bucks will have to go somewhere to evade them.
