We go into the grocery store and buy them! During the growing season, farmers up here grow them too. We may be Iowa but we even have indoor plumbing up here! lol
1st off AF Hunter, I will be trying this out but being the weekend Iron Chef that I am the recipe will probably get tweeked a bit because I cannot stand by a pot of anything that is simmering all day long without constantly tasting and adding something .

2nd thing is (not trying to start anything here), I didn't think a Vidalia could be grown anywhere other than Vidalia, Ga.. It has something to do with thesoil. Another variety of sweet onion, thatI would agree with.

First, Do what you want. If you're not going to try a recipe first before tweaking, you have a ego problem. Get over it.

Second, Iron Chef originated in Japan and if you are not Japanese living in Japan, you must be counterfeit.

Put this chili on hot dogs and I'll walk all the way to Roanoke on my arthritic legs & put my size 11 where the sun don't shine. Add beans if yer one of those tree huggin' non meat enjoyin' pansy boys! lol
Don't talk about this man's chili.

Anyway, I 'll let you know if I like it. Thanks for the recipe.

AF Hunter,
I have a pot of your recipe simmering right now. Boy does it look good. I love the smell of the liquid smoke when you add it to the onions. I could only find Hickory...is that ok? Also, for the sausage...what kind? Hot or sweet? I went with the hot. Thanks again for a great recipe. I hope I do it justice.
