My 8pt buck (pic)
It was a long bow season of bucks being out of range and things not working out. Thats hunting! Finally on Dec 28th at 5pm this 8pt came down the edge of the woods. I drew back my bow and double lunged it. It ran about 125 yds through thick swail and died. I was really excited that finally after all the hours in different stands I got one. I used a Pearson Spoiler Commpetition bow with a 100 grain thunderhead.
This is a great website and I just thought I would share a picture of my success ![]() |

RE: My 8pt buck (pic)
Congrats. Good shot. Easy track to follow?

RE: My 8pt buck (pic)
yes, beprepn it was a easy blood trail to follow. I also use a gametracker line, which attaches to the arrow and stays with the arrow unless the the line breaks. In this tracking trail the arrow had stayed in the deer for about 50 yds. So my dad and me followed the string there was countinous blood, but when the arrow came out there was alot of blood. The arrow hit the deer through both lungs and stopped at the opposite leg. Thanks for the post.

RE: My 8pt buck (pic)
Mantis Mayer, thanks for the post, I agree with you that in the woods pictures do look better, and I have pictures of this buck in the field. But I wanted to show the equipment I used to get this buck. Since I didn't take the bow on the tracking trip. But again, thanks for the post.

RE: My 8pt buck (pic)
Congratulations Little-Buck, You might won't to consider carrying that bow on tracking jobs. I've heard of and been involved in tracking jobs that come upon an animal that is still alive. Conratulations again!
