Judging by that pic you have did no wrong. Kudos to the quick kill after all you had been through earlier in the season. I would of gave him a chance by letting him use rob/gr8's boot.

Jeff,

I'd have done the same thing.5 years ago. Young buck comes by literally dragging his front shoulder/leg.. He had been rifle shot ( i later foundwhen cleaning him)and I put him out of misery because he looked so hurt ... when I recovered him his whole shoulder just reaked of infection. I was bowhunting late season.. anyway I felt like I did the right thing just as u did..

Jeff - nice shot, and props to you for doing what you did.

Honestly though, he would have probably survived. My parents live just off a major highway, and they have all kinds of deer with ugly orthopedic injuries running around (from motor vehicle collisions). They're amazingly tough and resilient. Lots of 3-leggers floating around.

Either way bro, kudos.

You did what any other hunter would have done
why should the deer have to suffer

ORIGINAL: GMMAT

Valor...

First off....I don't think I had a thing to do with that deer getting caught in the fence. I've hit two deer this year that I didn't recover....and I had one of those questions answered, Thursday. The other deer....I can't say, for sure, but it's a little better than "some deer".

Secondly....I have two buck tags....but I'd tag him if I only had one.

What pictures wouldn't you post? The doe in the wire? I can respect your stance, but I disagree.
i agree with you
