Rage broadhead tip.......

I needed some new bands for my 3 blade rage, and was having a difficult time finding them. I went to the hardware store of all places.....They are #5 O-rings......Just in case anyone needed to know.

Thanks for the heads up. I need new bands for 2 of mine they should give you more than 3 replacements.

Yeah, I guess that would work. Do they make a slick trick w/ an inch and a half cutting diameter???;)

Jeff, mine keep deploying when I put it back in my quiver after a hunt......The 3 originals were cut when I took them out of the package anyway....I'm just not a fan of that whole system, but I've got them so I'll use them.

Does your quiver have foam in it? Mine kinda (it's a bohning) keeps my heads "suspended"...and I've never had that problem.

RE: Rage broadhead tip.......

Yes, mine is foam. If I hit the grooves "just" right, they don't deploy....

I'm using Rages in a Kwikee 4 arrow quiver with the dual grippers and no foam. They stay closed in that easily. Most quivers would be a PITA though I'm guessing.

Those broadheads are all the rage ( no pun intended ) around here in NJ. No one has'em. The 2 blade types are virtually impossible to come by.

How do they work? A band holds the blades closed until it impacts a deer and than they deploy? They are rear deploying correct? Supposed to eliminate problems with the blades glancing to one direction or another?

I shoot fixed and have never messed with the newer mechanicals. ( Spitfires, Rage, Etc. )

Yeah, the Drury boys started shooting them, now suddenly they're the coolest thing since sliced bread. Mine were given to me or I wouldn't be shooting them. I know they make some serious entry and exit wounds, but the blade retention is a serious flaw.....worthless, actually. The bands that come installed on the heads are cut, right out of the package, and the 3 replacements aren't much better.

And, to replace the band, you have to remove the broadhead, install a field point, roll the band onto the arrow, reinstall the broadhead, get those god aweful blades closed (they're weird, like....scissors) then roll the o-ring into place.......SCREW THAT!! When these bad boys are gone, it'll be Hammerheads all the way......

Nice. I am seriously considering trying them just because of some of the damage I've seen them do.

Rage Blades are a force to be reckoned with. The only downfall is if you shoot a deer and are unable to recover the broadhead, thats 10 bucks down the drain.

Love my muzzy's no bands or blades opening to worry about,I have more important things to worry about at the critacal moment than blades.Just aim and shoot the muzzy does the work it hits where you aim.

How many times can you shoot them? Are the blades replaceable?
