Luck or Skill

last night was the worst hunt ever, tornado warnings, huge winds,i missed the second biggest deer of my life!!! not once but twice!!! the first time at 25 yards, then 45 yardsbut i was just wondering what everyone thinks about whether bowhunting has alot to do with luck or is it skill?? i think for myself that whenever i get a big deer its pure luck, yes i may be a skilled shooter, but i was lucky that day, because the deer crossed my path.

Majority of bowhunting is skill.

Its a happy medium. I always believe that you create your own luck. You use your skills of scouting, your knoledge of the animal your hunting, and how to successfully draw on a deer without spooking it, in hopes that you get lucky and that big one your after will come by.

Both are involved and I'll take both but for your particular hunt, doesn't sound too lucky...;)

How does that saying go? "I would rather be lucky than good". Unfortunately I am neither
