killing a record deer and stop hunting

if you could shoot a deer that would be a world record for 50 years or so

but must stop hunting for as long as it is the record would you shoot it

I'd shoot it but then not enter it if that were the case and keep hunting. That's simple.;)

bigtim6656 10-18-2007 06:49 PM

RE: killing a record deer and stop hunting

As much as I would like to shoot a world record deer, there is a lot of hassle in doing so not to mention if I had to give up hunting. No way I would give it up, but I would shoot the deer.

Exactly what he said. Shoot it and keep hunting. I wouldn't make that promise in the first place.

Bingo, you don't to get the deer officially scored. If it's not officially scored, it dosn't officially count - therefor leaving me free to continue hunting.

I wouldn't be able to either, love it way too much to give it up for one deer.

I'm not aware of any law that says I have to forfeit my huntng priveleges for shooting a record buck, stupid question.

Otherwise a big NO, I could not go through fall with out hunting this great animal.

Honestly, the only reason I would want to kill a world record is so I could hunt more. I could care less about anything else that comes with it. Hunting is the only thing in the world that I feel I was meant to do. It is that simple to me.

I hunt because I enjoy it notbecause I amtrying to impress others.

If I answered yes it would mean that I am hunting for the wrong reasons IMO.

So...NO I would not.

Killing a world record you would be a millionaire, I probably would say yes, just because I love fishing just as much and have many other hobbies. It would suck to give up hunting

Man records are nice, but for me it's (hunting) is that feeling when your first buck comes in and you are try to breath but your heart just won't settle down in your chest. You would swear your shirt is moving and going to bust you!

No. I hunt for food, not records.

RE: killing a record deer and stop hunting

just use the money you get from having the record and grow another bigger strong deer because you know we have the technology to give a shot to bionic woman show on TV Lol and let someone else kill him then you get to hunt again

Give up hunting, no. I could probably give up shooting bucks and hunt does only for the chance to have that mount above the fireplace!
