Next step in bowhunting?

The whole - "Where do you see bows being at in 10 years" - thread got me thinking... (which is dangerous to say the least)

How many people see their own upcoming, "advancement", in bowhunting as taking a step back and going down the more difficult Traditional road?

In other words, how many of you are seriously planning on going down the traditional road in the future?

I am already planning on getting into traditional archery. I have a couple recurves that I plan on getting strings and arrows for and hopefully start shooting this spring.

i see myself atleast OWNING and shoot recurves and long bows...which leads to me hunting with them..

when?? tough to say. right now im in college so i dont have the time to devote to it..atleast to be good enough to hunt with one...but down the road, i definently see myself getting into it.

got into hunting with a flintlock rifle...i absolutely love it...

Was there once, I sucked...LOL wasn't for me. I have several older recurves and longbows, more decor than use....I'll own one again, will I hunt with it? Don't know, if I'm tagged out on a buck, I might take it for doe but I am too much of a compound junkie. Many people have no business picking up a traditional bow, I once was one and know it, it takes more dedication, practice and respect than many give to it. They are wannabees and I really respect those that can get it done that way, consistantly...I admire guys like that. Again, some just pretend.

Both good answers

Mauser - out of curiousity, what kind of flintlock do you hunt with, I'm looking into getting one sometime soon.

I would love to get into traditional archery, but as of right now, I don't have the money or the time to learn it, but I do plan on getting into it in the future.

NO WAY!! I want every advantage I can get!! I have an old recurve I made in shop class in High School, a LOOOOOOONG time ago. I get it out and shoot it once in a while, but I would never even think about hunting with it.

There was talk here in PA about legalizing hunting with an Atlatl.

Now that would be traditional.
