Found some rubs today
 

I was out scouting todayand found five fresh rubs. I spooked a few deer but could not tell if they were bucks or does. Can you tell how big the deer is by the size of the buck? If the bucks started to rub does that mean they will be chasing does?

it's not entirely true i've watched spikes and forks make rubs like the size of the one in your pic and i've also witnessed an eight point rubbing on pencil sized trees.

The only thing u can really say is if you have a very large tree then most likely u have a very large antlered deer, ive seen very big bucks tear up small trees and smaller bucks rub medium sized trees
