garbage bags for scent control???

after I wash all my clothing in my scent eliminating detergent and use my earth scented dryer sheets, can I use garbage bags to keep them scent free until I get into the field???

also I am open to suggestions and criticism, I can take it :)

I would personally just buy the $5 dollar H.S. Scents large ziplock bag.....garbage bags seem to have a unique smell to them, and I'm not sure if that would 'rub off' onto the clothing you are so carefullytrying to contain.

That's what I do, the HS Bag, and then straight into my large tupperware container.....

It depends on the garbage bag, some are scented or have antimicrobial agents added to them that can spook game. Polyethylene has a bit of a smell itself, but some scent killer applied before the hunt should take care of that.

I was thinking maybe spray the inside of the bag with scent killer?

think about it this way.

when you have garbage such as meat in the garbage, and its tied, does it smell after about a week?

if it cant keep smells in, it isnt gonna keep them out.

I sure hope so, because that is what I've been using for years. I use the contractor grade bags because they hold a lot and are thicker.

Bags smell. I'd get some rubber tubs and scrub and descent. You can throw in some leaves or apples in a can with some holes cut in it. tubs also make transportation and sorting easier.

If garbage bags were good for scent control, you'd see hunters wearing garbage bag suits under their camo. I'm sure somebody has tried it. Come on guys, fess up. Did it work?

I mostly use the big ziploc XXXXL bags and a tub for clothing, but do use large trashbags to cover my climber stand when transporting fron home in the car to sight to hunt after the stand has been thoroughly sprayed with scent killer.

I use big plastic bins from wally world or somethin, smells like dirt when they go in, smells like dirt when they come out, what more can you ask for??

Rubberboots (rubber itself has an odor)itstinks too, once a deer associates any rubber or plastic with danger ...its worthless

with all the talk about scent lok being a waste and rubber, plastic..etc.. I think we'd just be better off ot hunt naked after rolling in the dirt.. ;)

I like the bags that you hook up to the vacuum and suck all the air out of. A 3 pack at wally world was about $12 I think.

That would get a little cold here in PA , not to mention the "shrinkage factor".
I'll stick with my Scent-Lok.
