$ TIPS FOR THE CREW $
I am heading out on a outfitted hunt Nov 10th to the 16th . I wanted to know what would the proper tip be for the staff at the lodge and the guide.
I would hate to offend someone who did the best job they could to put us on deer and not take care of them the way they should be. |
RE: $ TIPS FOR THE CREW $
Depends on service and initial cost of hunt...give us the specifics.
What animal? What terrain? What kinda camp..lodge or pack in?? Effort? Success?? Many factors should be considerred. |
RE: $ TIPS FOR THE CREW $
Cook-$20 to $50
Guide- $100to $150 (Depending on his attitude, skill level, and how satisfied you are with your animal) Skinner- $15 to $20 (add $5 more if they quarter it) Thats just my two cents Edit: I am assuming Whitetailed deer, decent buck but not a 180" or bigger.I was thinking more along the lines of 130" to 150" |

RE: $ TIPS FOR THE CREW $
I would suggest, if it is one on one with a hunter/guide, 8% to 10%

RE: $ TIPS FOR THE CREW $
If it's a whitetail hunt and the "guide" walks you to a stand, leaves you, then picks you up again, this is a different level of "work" than something like a guided elk hunt where they are with you all the time and do the calling and you really need their expertise.
When in doubt, ask the outfitter. |
RE: $ TIPS FOR THE CREW $
It depends on how high the fences are. [8D]LOL
I'd say you should figure at least 10 percent in gratuities. Heck, maybe 12 if you got cook, maids, guide and all the others. It depends on the level of service, stands, deer sightingand attitude. If they put you in a stand that's hunted every day for 3 weeks straight.... it isn't much of a guide servce. Carrythe moneywith you. You can always carry it back home.:D |
