Need your advice brothers...
Alright, I'm getting ready to spend some dough and would like your advice. Double Bull or treestand? If you answer treestand, which one? I'm boggled. Thank you kindly...

RE: Need your advice brothers...
if you have plenty of tree's then (tree stand) if climber, you cant beat summit vipor or goliath. if hang on, gorilla aint bad. there are alot of good hang ons, some even are adjustable for leaning trees.

RE: Need your advice brothers...
I'd pick tree stand. For my money it would be a Lone Wolf. Quiet, packs flat, is light to carry, climbs effortlessly.
I have the hand climber and also the sit and climb. In my opinion the best stand made. A double bull would really limit your options on where you could set-up. They are probably a great choice for many preconcieved stand placements but would require much more fore-thought. Plus from an elevated perch you can see so much more..and you really feel connected, yet invisible. |
RE: Need your advice brothers...
I would rather go with a tree stand. Lone wolf makes a great climber and so does summit. I like the loggy bayou hand on stands.

RE: Need your advice brothers...
How high do you need to climb in a climber not to be spotted?
|
RE: Need your advice brothers...
Geez these answers will range..But generally I found I like 15 -18 ft depending on terrain and canopy.

In Mi deer hate blinds, they can work. I find 20+ feet in a tree to be better or a natural ground blind.

RE: Need your advice brothers...
Two years ago I spooked a 130" 9 point when my broadhead snagged on the inside of my Ameristep doghouse blind. I was bringing my bow up to draw for what would have been a 20 yard broadside shot at the biggest buck of my life. I vowed never again.
I'd get the treestand. |

Tree stand. I like API and Gorilla.

RE: Need your advice brothers...
I think I would go with a tree stand mainly becuase you are up off the ground and can see much more.

RE: Need your advice brothers...
Get a tree stand. When your up in a tree your not at eye level with these deer, i myself make my own portable tree stands. I hate the tree stands they make these days! Mine are very very sturdy in the tree, they won't move an oz! I make mine out of metal.

RE: Need your advice brothers...
Treestand - API makes one that has a telescoping ladder built in making it mobile. Lone Wolf seems to get good reviews but I haven't bought one yet, kind of pricey.

Treestand, u can use it for gun season too. I love my Summit Viper XLS. Have had it for quite a few yrs. In fact, summit now has the 180 version. You can sit facing the tree or flip the seat to sit facing away from the tree. The're quiet & easy to set up.

both :D

RE: Need your advice brothers...
I would go with a treestand for sure. If you want to hunt from the ground use natural cover its free.
