Its a snipe, go out at night with a bag and they will walk right into it. It works real well coupled with bird noises. I like to use a chuckar call. That seems to work best..... Make sure that you use hip waders when doing this as they have great noses. I also find that a wide brim straw hat keeps them from seeing my eyes...... Make sure you get plenty of pictures!!!!! Just kidding. Its a dog. I believe that it may be all or partially a whippet with the way the stomache is tucked.

This photo was taken off my property and blackwolf2626 posted it this morning. It was taken in JoDavies County, Illinois on a Buckeye Camera System. We have not checked the cameras since early September. A neighbor reported seeing a large black cat earlier this summer on two different occasions - he seemed to think he was seeing a black panther or black phase large cat. Here is a zoomed in version of the same photo. Still not sure what it is??? We don't have any resident dogs that look like this, not to say it couldn't be a free rooming wild dog. Check out the tail?? But then again the legs seem long. Hopefully we will get another picture on the cameras. We googled black cats, Illinois and several stories came up of mysterious black large cats. Lets get one thing straight, I'm not saying this is anything yet, it is just strange.

My initial reaction when I saw the pic was "dog", but after studying it closer and really sizing it up I came to the conclusion that it is a black dog.
