Need a decent sight
I am just getting into bow hunting.
This season was the first time I participated. I have probably only shot a bow 10 times. I bought a Martin and after season bought a Reflex Growler. I purchased a Whisker Buscuit for it but now need a sight. Any suggestions for my sight? I don't need expensive, but decent. I used crosshair sights on my Martin, now looking for pins though. Something I can easily put 6 pins on. There is just so many darn sights when I goto the store I am kinda lost. Thanks |
RE: Need a decent sight
Six pins is alot. Most guys use three or four. I use a single pin slider and I really like that concept. You can select the EXACT yardage and dial the sight in for that yardage. There's no need for "pin gapping". Plus the field of view is excellent with a single vertical pin. I've used Vital Bow Gear and Cobra single pin sliders. I like the Cobra better.
In all honesty, I could get by with a single fixed vertical pin out to 30 yards. 95% of your shots will be within that range anyway. There's really no need for 6 pins, unless you are going to be shooting extremely long distances. |

I have a G5 Optix ME , comes with three fixed pins and one floating pin that you can shift between distance . Its a Fantastic sight lightweight and comes with light for lighting up the Fibres if you go dusk hunting . Really happy with it .

ORIGINAL: DropTine249 If you're looking for a relatively affordable sight Id recommend Tru-Glo. I have Tru-Glo on my bow and my brother has the Tru-Glu lumination on his. He turns a knob and the fiberoptics light up via a watch type battery. He has 3 Pins, 20, 30 & 40 yards. I Have 5 Pins, 20, 30, 40, 50 & 60 yards. Even with 5 pins, my sight picture is rather vast, its a very open sight. When I buy my new bow however, Im putting on a different Carolina Archery sight or a FoxFire |
RE: Need a decent sight
i have an eradicator site on my bow and love it. way better than pins and a peep. the sights are just like gun sights, two pins in the back one pin in the front just line them up and shoot. you can shoot much later too you can get tritium dots or painted dots and they both glow in the dark.

I personally like an adjustablesingle pin the best. Great sight is an HHA. They are a little spendy but well worth their money. WCL
