Does Wind affect Deer Movement?

The wind is between 25-30 mph in Oklahoma today. I was just wondering how wind affects deer?

RE: Does Wind affect Deer Movement?

here in indiana on my first hunt there was no wind and it was 75 i saw 3 deer one at 15 yards or less . On the second the next day it was 88 and no wind i aw three deer. on this monday it was 40 to 55 and10 to 20 wind and i saw 5 deer oneat about 20 yards . today no wind and it was 40 to 55 and one deer

so go figure ,if it is overabout 10 and gust to 20 i will not hunt i do not have enough outdoors shooting to do it . I think the temp and rain has more to do with movement but if it is real cold and high windsi would think it might hold them back

the wind here usually gets the deer moving in the deep bottoms, or in the stands of pines.

Yes. It certainly affects deer movement. How it affects deer movement probably depends alot on the terrain/area your hunting

In Illinois, the high winds tend to put a damper on big buck movement.
