Every shot huh?

Well I just shot a fawn.

I was in my stand minding my own business watching the turkeys. Then I see some deer in front of me. 4 does and 2 bucks. The only shooters (in my mind) were the does.
At 5:50 I hear a pack of dogs behind me just tearing something up.
I think, rabbit dogs.

I'm watching and waiting. I just know one of two things are going to happen. One of them big ole does is coming my way OR Mr. Big horns will make an appearance.

Then I hear something behind me. Making awful noise.
Here's this little fawn all roughed up and can't hardley walk. She's limping bad and gasping for air.

I had to take her. I let loose at 6:36 and recovered her at 6:48.

When I got my arrow I noticed there was blood leading up to it, so she was already bleeding.
She went about 10yds and piled up.

Tough night.
I'm about to do the deed so I'll let you know what I find (gun shot, etc) in a little while.

shooting dogs is messed up, that could be some ones pet that got loose. Thats F't up. If they had rabies or there were a pack of wild dogs known about in the area that could be a diffrent story. Anyway I wouldnt touch that meat. But good job putting it out of its misery

If they are chasing or attacking deer they are wild in my opinion.

Hey Big cain't speak for the hunting dogs in NC---But the hounds I hunt with want attack a deer ---They ain't running cause there hungry--They prove it when the buck we are running gets killed and they just stand around wanting something else to run so they can chase it.
Sound to me like some yard dogs gone wild--Alot more vicious then a pack of coyotes--Coyotes are scared of man--Wild dogs are not!!!
