wow, a 67 yard shot. taking that shot would never even cross my mind. this article is probably going to get everyone wound up.

the buck looks young too.

I agree racklustrer, wouldn't cross my mind either. Not sure how old he was, but a mature buck in SE Okla. will normally weigh between 130-150 lbs field dressed. The further north and west you go in the state the closer a mature deer gets to the 200lb mark. They just don't have the agriculture and food in the SE part of the state.

That thing does look young, it only dressed at 147 lbs.

Well If I saw it, I would be shooting, not asking it how old it was.

67 yards is kind of a hail mary though.

Too far for me. 147 lbs buck is3.5 years old or older in Ok.

I find it less offending that he made the shot rather than he published the shot. That doesn't speak well for archery but nothing more than braggin, pounding his chest, look how good I am...(how's that David?).;)

He should have just told his story without the distance. It would look better for him and better for all.

Just goes to prove perhaps he's not good enough to close the distance. [&:] Bowhunting isn't about how far you can shoot.

To all who find the story disturbing, you've got to know the McAlester area where this guy's from, very strange group of people.Strong possibility that the buck wasshot with a .22 mag first ... I'm only sort of kidding on that one, lol
