Well...I'm officially back

So i gave up bowhunting (and hunting all together) about 5 years ago...and sold everything to support my racing hobby. Well I decided to get back into it this year at the last minute so i have been scrambling like crazy for the past month and it finally paid off yesterday.
This buck came out around 6:25pm browsing on acorns at about 30 yards away...I drew my bow on him but he ducked under some brush so i couldn't shoot. I had used a drag line with Tink's draw #2 on it, made a loop around my stand and then a line directly to the tree i was in. Well he hit that and walked straight to me...meanwhile i am still at full draw with my not so used to bowhunting anymore arm and shoulder, holding my zero creep-able X-force...I thought i was going to have a heart attack....felt like at least 40-50 seconds...which is a long time for me in the shape i am in.
Anyways, i didn't get a clear shot on him until he was directly underneath my treetstand, ~6 yards straight down. I was leaning completely on the top bar of my summit viper ss stand...never taken a shot like that before.
The arrow zipped right through him and stuck in the ground, he hopped once and trotted off about 20 yards where he stopped as if a little confused about what just happened and then fell over....nice and quick, like everyone likes to do.
I am using grim reepers, 100grain, 1-3/8" wide and noticed when i was cleaning him that the broadhead was closed when it hit him butfully opened as it exited the top set of ribs on it's way through the heart/lungs....i was pretty happy with that. I figured it would take a few more inches of travel.
So sorry for the long post, here's a crappy cell phone pic. It's not the biggest buck i have killed with a bow but a nice start to the season, i'm no longer a born again bowhuntingvirgin..hehe. He's 17" wide outside to outside and those inner tines (G2's?) are 11" tall on the right side.

So thanks for a great site and great info...i had to do a crash course in new bowhunting technology to get ready for this season

On another note, I just had to have one of the fastest bows availible, it's sighted in out to 60 yards and i get this buck at 6 yards....I could have just dropped the bow on him, or even a rock and it would have killed him...go figure. :)

Thanks for reading,
-Jarrod
