saw 9 deer this morning
Its my first year bow hunting after 15 with a rifle. Ive been about 10 times and has it been miserable due to the heat and mosquitos. It cooled off and I finally decided to switch locations and decided to try the conservation ground. I found a good spot withalot of acorns and game trails. I got in the stand late this morning and at about 7:30 i saw two small spikes. One came within 20 yards of my stand but there was a bush blocking my shot. When it finally gave me a shot, they both got spooked when i pulled my bow back. I guess my arrow rest was too loud. About a halfhour later, another spike came in and almost walked directly under my stand before seeing it and getting spooked. None of the deer ran from the area at top speed instead they all just worked there way through the area in a different direction. About 9:00three does and three little deer came into the area. They seemed pre-occupied with something behind them and never made it into bow range. I know this is a long story but I finally see the addiction with bow hunting and having to let the deer get close. I havent been that excited to see spikes and does since my first few years of hunting. I cant wait to get back out there in the morning.
