Missouri Hunting
I am headed to SW Missouri on 23 Oct for a week of hunting. I am wondering if the buck will be responding to rattling? I have not archery hunted there for 15 years.

RE: Missouri Hunting
For bigger bucks hunt in NC or NE Missouri, As close as you can get to Iowa some times they slip over the border into Missouri, till the Missouri gun season runs them back into Iowa . ;) I have hunted in North central Missouri for about 25's year. Taking one are two deer a year every year and have taken some nice P&Y buck, but realy hard to find in Missouri

Should be a really good time to be in the woods...i would imagine that time of the year will be pre-rut and you might have success calling...things should really be heating up that week! Good Luck!

RE: Missouri Hunting
A lot depends on the Buck to Doe ratio, deer density and how cold the weather is.....I have tried rattling in Bucks with no luck so far over the past few years.I know several people that have had good luck with the Doe Bleat can and even the fawn calls.
It can't hurt to do some early light rattling to see what happens....surely some Bucks have been doing a little sparring already? [&:] |
