I use a Tree-Lounge stand and can shoot close to 360 around the tree, my solution to the harness stopping me from shooting to the right behind the tree was to put a D-Loop on the tree tether' put a second tree tether between the tree and my harness tether and added enough to adjust it out when something aproaches from the right rear to make a shot, then adjust it back after.

For some reason I think the opening post in this thread is a prelude for an infomercial on a tree sling or something. Honestly, if you can't shoot a deer on the other side of the tree without spooking it... you're probably doing a lot of things wrong. I've shot them behind the tree, all around the tree and under the stand. It's the hunter grasshopper, not the fault of the stand. The addition of a full body safety harness to my inventoryhas made it more difficult... but it can be done. You just have to be careful. Stand placement can resolve most such problems. If you're not shooting deer where you expect to shoot them you're not planning right. Oh yes, there will be exceptions...but that's what they should be, exceptions. Every stand should be placed with deer patterns, wind, sun, which hand you shoot withand whatever determining where best to put it. Move WARY WAry CAREFOOOLY... we ain't huntin' Wabbits.

If the deer is in bow range, directly behind your tree, one offour things HAS to happen if you don't spook him:
1) He walks out on the right
2) He walks out on the left
3) He walks under you
4) He walks directly away
1-3 you have shots, 4, well, he wins

Facts are, you are in a tree, hooked to it, the tree will be in the way sometimes. You should have over 270 degrees of shooting movement, but you'll never get 360 unless you do some gymnastics in the tree.
If it continually happens, move the stand, even just spin it around the tree a bit.
There's always a place the deer can be, be in range, and you not be able to shoot, unless its the middle of a field,
Where's the fun in always winning?
