The Black Widow Strikes.........
 

The cool weather made it a lot easier to get out of bed this morning! I headed to a spot that I've been waiting on a North wind to hunt. It's a tight draw between two big ridges... At 7:40 am, I heard a stick snap behind me. 2 does were slowly feeding my way. I eased up and got my bow into position. The biggest doe walked behind a tree and I drew, when she stepped out on the other side I released... The arrow buried to fletch right behind her shoulder and she made a mad dash for cover.. She covered maybe 50yds and crashed. I estimated her to weigh about 100lbs... She was dry. It sure is nice to get that first one out of the way!

You killed a really good buck last year didn't ya?

I still have 2 doe tags to fill here in PA now that it cooled off, I don't know if I want to ruin my 100% traditional archery success string. ;)

That's a heck of a deal w/ a trad bow, and those black widows are gorgeous!

I also wanna say good job on the photo. Cleaned off the blood, and the leaf over the wound is a very tasteful touch. Nicely done.
