You guys ever hear a bobcat scream??
 

First of all i'm hunting in Gettysburg, which is supposed to be haunted anyway. First time at this spot, cant find my tree. Then i hear that god awful scream only about 20 yards away.There's a definitechance that i pee'dmyself a little bit.I had to of broke some kind of land speed record; climber off my back and up arandom tree all in about 30 seconds tops. I know a bobcat would never attack but at the time i wasnt thinkin bobcat i was thinkin boogie man. I ended up staying in that tree and passed up two cake shots at nice doe's and had a buck grunting below me before daylight. Funny how things turn out. Anyone else ever heard that noise?

yeah after I shot one. hehe. A fox also makes a wierd hoarse noise. Its like a bark but high pitched and really scratchy. There used to be a den of foxes behind my house and since I lived down stairs they would wonder up and eat my dog's food and of course bark quite a bit. It sounds like a person screaming just shortened. quote" HAAAAAAAAAH!......."HAAAAAAAAAAH!" unquote. Yeah like that.

Yeah, I heard one scream about 25-30 yards away as I was climbing my ladder stand in the pitch dark
and I almost fell off. I was glad I didn't have to keep walking. We have a lot of bobcats but it's
the only time I heard one. I saw him too at daylight (biggest one I've ever seen - mounted and live),
but couldn't get a shot.

A bobcat won't attack a human on purpose, I've heard a few rumors of turkey hunters getting attacked
by accident on the ground.

last year when i was up north for the youth hunt i heard a bobcat and something else screaming and fighting it is kind of a freightening sound.

I have seen and heard two bobcats um..........making love. I know that sounds far fetched but two years ago about 60 yards from my stand they were running around and acting playful. Next thing I know they're doing the dirty. One of the cats made a sound just like a house cat. "rrrrraaaaooooowwww"

I still laugh every time I sit in that stand. I didn't have the heart to shoot one of them, plus sixty yards is a long shot.

My family and I do a fair amount of coonhunting with hounds; my dad has told a storyforyears now about a bobcat that he and his hunting partner heard one night. He said that the dogs got treed in the woods and on the way to the hounds they heard the mostevil sound they ever heard. He said it sounded like a woman sreaming as she was been stabed with a knife( not that he knows what this sounds like, just a figure of speech). He said the cat was about 20 yards from them and the hounds when it made the first scream and it did three more times.He said thatwhen the cat started screaming the hounds even got freaked out.He said the rest of the night he was freaked out and kept watching over his shoulder. Haha.

Dont have very many in Indiana, kinda uncommon.

oh man... i hate that noise. The first time I heard it was when I was 12. I was climbing out of my stand at dark and heard it about 40 to 50 yards away. You've never seen a white boy run so fast in your life! :D I've heard it twice since then.

I believe so. I've also been told Mountain Lions sound the same.:D

Anyway, I know how you feel. I was 17 and really just hunting on my own for the first time after spending years standing beside my dad. We were in Allegheny county so it's shotgun only and I'll never forget that sound in the pitch black waiting for first light. 17 years later, it still sends a chill up my spine.

Scares the crap outa me. Sounds like a baby crying or a lady screaming. I always hear them in rifle season and for some reason when the fire whistle goes off in the nearest town they cry up a storm along with the coyotes howling there heads off.

My granddad always said that he had a seen a panther on his farm when I was a kid. When I was about 14 and started hunting by myself I heard a terrible scream one morning as I was sitting in my treestand. Scared the hell out of me and I always wondered what it was. Bobcats are common here in NE Missouri now.
