:DAs we milk our last 5 minutes of fame out of these 2........

For the first time in public here are the 2 PA bucks hanging out together tonight at the taxidermist. 292 1/8" of antler.

Mine we guessed at 4.5yrs old and Frank's might be old enough to vote.
[:-] We tried a tooth chart and the lower jaw and it resembles the 6.5yr old reference but we can't be sure.
Frank is probably gonna pony up the $$ and have a tooth dissected to count growth rings.



You should feel the weight of Frank's rack. WOW. Mine is a horse of a thing and his makes it feel like a feather. I bet the entire thing is 2lbs heavier than mine.
My buck was 1/4" longer eye to nose (7 3/4") but Frank's must be a full 1" wider across the skull cap![:-]

nice deer...speeking of deer age like 6 years ago i killed a doe, took it to the dnr to survey and get my patch, they estamaited the girl to be over 13 years they said it was the oldest deer they surveyed or seen..the head of this doe looked like a horse...lol

Both are awesome racks and Frank, "yourold boy amazes me, bothhis Crown (forehead) andthe rack" . I'm really curiouse abouthis bases, they both look split soif it's not just an optical illusionI'd like tohear a bitabout them.
Considering his age how solid are they, if he were to find himself in a skermish with another monster (similar to Matts) would they have held up? Actuallywith his agehe probably knows better.

I like the second one, the semi-sneek, it just appears to be more "natural" of a look. The slightly lowered head will also help make the rack stand out (even though it really doesn't need any help to do that):D

Buck Magnet hasn't shot enough deer to know what's more natural. I prefer Number 1. Great bucks guys. Number one is alert and on guard. He's seen something and it's about to be too late.

I think for a pedestal mount I like #1 better. For a wall mount though I love the sneak or semi sneak. You can't go wrong with either and if I killed a buck of that caliber (buck ofa lifetime in PA) I'd do the pedestal as well. Can't wait to see pics..........

Edit - I'd also be curious to know the neck measurement on Frank's buck. I'm betting it was right around 24"........amazing for an early season PA buck.

I like #1 better for a pedestal.... If and when I take a top end buck for my area I will do a wall pedestal mount.

A wall pedestal mount demands respect..... This is why I will only do a pedestal if I take a top end whitetail for my area.... The only mount that demands more respect is a full body mount and I would have to live in a "lodge" to go all out like that. :D

#1 is going to be my next mount style. It depends on what you already have on the wall and what shows off the rack the best.

That was the one that caught my eye after I had already decided on a wall pedestal.
Right turn, upright full wall pedestal, that's the winner. Now the wait begins. :(

(You guys think I'll havea spot for him when he's done? LOL I have already begun the planning stages of finishing the basment into a den over the winter so I might just BUILD him a spot. ;))
