RE: Pics of the new bowtech 101st Airborne!

So many people are quick to think that if there is a higher MSRP on a bow that the dealer makesa lot more for their pocket or makes a"killing". I can tell you the difference a dealermakes on a $800 msrp bow as compared to a $600 msrp bow is a drop in the bucket and NOT significant at all. That difference usually wouldn't even fill your gastank halfway. There truly are no dealers making a "killing" in this game, trust me on that. I made more my first year out of college than the average successful dealer makes as a business owner, and I worked a LOT less hours to do it. Just some food for thought....;).

In my experience you get what you pay forwith most things in life. In some instances that could be a great company and 1st rate customer service to back a product.;)but there can be other things also that are more subtle[8D]

RJ - nothing at all to do with the MSRP - I was just saying that $800+ is a TON of money for a bow. I wasn't saying that just b/c it costs $800 then that means that a dealer is making a mint on it.

Just saying...without getting specific...that with what Bowtech charges their high-volume dealers (invoice price), that$829 (msrp)is awfully steep, and somebody is making a lot of money (profit margin)if they're actually charging that price at the point of sale.

Justvoicing my opinion, that's all - from a consumer's perspective.

I understand completely, and hope you weren't offended, but as someone that works for a shop I wanted others (other than you because I figured you knew) to know that dealers really aren't making a killing off of anything. No worries......

I don't know that I've ever seen a Bowtech priced at MSRP in a pro shop. Generally they are in the $649-699 range unless you go with a custom camo option.

Thanks for saving me some typing.

Dealers make more on accesories than bows.Dealers will start making a little more on a bow once they reach a certain dealer level, but they must sell alot of bows before they start getting discounted prices.

I am excited about the new models. I am currently a Mathews shooter, but am always open to improvement. Specifically, I have a short draw (27.5) and would love to pick up some additional speed. I'll be looking at the Bowtech line, along with the PSE X-Force 7. Hopefully, Mathews will come out with a faster rig with their legendary smoothness that will be included in the mix. Best to all....;)

GMMAT,

In 2007, they made an unspecified donation for each Tribute sold (mine has a yellow ribbon decal on it).

According to their press release, to date they donated 72k to TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program
for Survivors).

I wouldn't be surprised if they pick another bow to do that for in 08. Would be great if they kept that
tradition going.
