Has any one tried the ThermaCELL for mosquito's and pesty flies?
Went hunting the other evening, the temperature was in the mid 80's (unseasonably warm) and I was pestered my entire hunt with nagging mosquito's and flies. I have heard of bear hunters who have used them in Canada on Spring hunts and said they really work. I was wondering if they give off any kind of an odor that would spook a deer or bear. Has anyone used them and if so let me know what you thin about them. Thanks

For uses other than hunting, it was better than I could have imagined. A friend an I sat on our deck, in the middle of the woods in August until 3am two nights in a row...no bug bites! It was awesome. I have not used it for hunting yet but I plan to give it a try.

works good thats for sure..But I'm leary of taking it hunting..I can smell it so I know deer can smell it. Others use it..but I'm on the fence.

This is the 3rd year I have had mine, it stays strapped on my climber...This year I have killed 2 does with my bow, both times the Thermacell was on...I'm guessing that's 6-7 deer I have killed with the Thermacell on...If the deer are down wind, they are going to smell you, doesn't matter what it is about you that they smell...

I wished I'd listened to you guys and took one with me Tuesday night.
I've counted 20 mosquito bites on my hands alone from a 2 hour hunt, and I had gloves on!
