never taken it deer hutning yet, but I know it works awesome during spring turkey. I'm still kinda nervous to use it with the whitetail

Go out and buy one. They are awesome. Saved my hunt in Alberta last year.

I wonder if it gives off much of a scent. It would almost have to inorder to get rid of the flies and mosquito's.

Yes, they omit a slight odor, but I don't think it is one that alarms deer. I had a doe w/ in 20 yards of my stand for an hour and a half the other evening with mine burning. That's not the only day I've had deer in shooting range w/ one burning.

Great on mosquitoes but doesn't work on flies or gnats.

Shot my buck with it on he was upwind when i shot him. so. I dont think they care, atleast none of the deer that were with him/he diddnt care.

Just got one this year and it is great. Just remember to turn it on 10 to 15 minutes before getting to your stand. I spent opening morning curled up in a ball on the ground for 10 minutes waiting for it to take effect. One minute there were swarms of huge mutant mosquitos, and the next minute there was nothing, It was just like flipping a switch. BUY ONE!
