Default Pick a stand (revisited..hells 100 acres)

I put this in my team thread but let's take a look here as well. This is land I acquired that I know nothing about. It's 96 acres +/-. I don't know what's in the fields. But I do know they are where the property changes owners so they are off limits. Whats jumping out at ya? I see a thing or two but want fresh unbiased ideas. Honestly you know as much about it as I do at this point! May try it out Saturday Evening, if things don't take a turn this week.

The red star is nothing more than the starting point I enterred in my map search. Thats his mailbox on a dirt road and you can see the ouse back by the pond...he has a loooong driveway

I'm sure theres some amount of Oak.. The area I hunt a 5-6 miles down the road is a public ground of some 2000 acres andis basically all Oaks..So many in fact, it's overwhelming as to where a deer could/will feed.

Well that's good for your area. Here its hard to find trees actually producing mast this year.

Ok well I'll go ... I "think" the Magenta shaded areas look like a high wall along the creek. This could create pinch points at the red square areas for crossing the creek. Again I'm not sure what the fieldsare or what exact types of trees the area hasbut as a starting point..opinions?

Is that flat land or hill country?

Pretty rolly...Not mountainous but not flat either. Anyone have a free topo site? I'd like to see it myself.

PM me the mailbox address and I'll see what it looks like in Google Earth, it's so much better if it's up to date areas.

The green box looks like a ridge top between the low creek and the low pond.... Seems like a natural funnel to me....

The red dots are just some obvious observation time stands near inside corners, etc....

Looks like an interesting property, good luck with it!
