I personally will not be dying for a deer carcass. P&Y or not. Take it, it's yours.

Nor will I but I will stand in defiance for the principle and my rights.

Yes I do carry my Browning Buckmark .22 with me most of the time when I'm bowhunting, especially when I'm hunting a particular woods, very remote area with large packs of coyotes howling, sends shivers down my spine, when I'm walking out in the pitch dark. Not that a .22 will do much, but just for peace of mind more than anything.

It's illegal here too but I generally carry my .45 Colt Officers Special.

No offense, but there is a very fine line between "standing in defiance for the principle and my rights" and a shotgun blast to the face. I am not advocating pacifism, but a persons gotta know when they're outgunned.

No I do not.

Even if it was legal in NY, I wouldn't. I have no fear of any
animals I might encounter, or people for that matter.

I wonder if its legal anywhere, in a bow only season?

My Glock 23 is a vital piece of my archery equipment....a stabilizer

It "Stabilizes" my piece of mind...............and it makes a perfect counterweight in my day-pack for a liter of H20

Not a bad idea really. I usually hunt on property that's private and pretty well known. Hardly ever (if ever) have to worry about no-goods runnin around or bears, but I would endorse carrying a pistol. It would definately add a lot of extra weight to haul...weight which I dislike to carry in the woods. When I first started hunting, I'd carry everything because "I might need it"....now I carry essentials.

During gun season it is legal here in GA. I carry a .22 semi auto when I remember to bring it.

"Hey ya'll, watch this"

off in the middle of the woods with some guy that wouldn't think twice over killing you over a deer isn't exactly the right time to be thinking about principles.

can't carry one here in Alabama while bowhunting, but I think they should amend the law to where if you have a CCW you should be able to carry

Briandamage, think about it this way...
You and I are coming out of the woods, both of us are dragging P&Y deer. The thieves see that I am packing a Smith and all you have is an empty bow...

Who gets robbed?
