That's a non shot to me, will not take it, I have a buddy that has, with bad results....Might try putting some doe pee (not estrus) out about 15 yards away to attract her to that area, giving you a shot.....If legal, a couple hands full of corn will do the same thing....Or, carry a climber and move 15 yards away....

Sit on the ground behind a bush with a fair view of the trail....

Seriously... You've got a 1/2" wide chance of not having to trail that animal for hundreds of yards.... What can I say, I'm lazy...

I'd be tempted to wait even if it's so they are only slightly farther out from your stand. In all likelyhood they will turn a little bit and allow for a higher percentage shot. I'd shoot...but I would wait until thier 5+yards out and aim off center for the heart so theres a better chance of getting a pass through and a better blood trail.

Great pic OGW!

Bring some clippers and a trimming pole out there as well to give yourself some more shooting windows. But in the meantime, practice for those straight down shots before you try one on a deer.

I most definately would not shoot the spine. I have shot the spine on accident and all it does is paralyze them, then you have to do a follow up shot thus lenghtening the suffering of the deer. I recommend waiting until the deer gives you a better shot or dont shoot at all
