Please Read!! Safety Harness

Mods... I hope this is ok here.

Folks,
Last week I posted a thread that I was giving away a few extra safety harnesses that I had.(heck I can't use more than one at a time right?) and they were just setting in my garage. Anyway, I gave away 4 harnesses within 1.5 hours, and I am still getting emails asking if I have anymore. Many asking about harnesses that would fit kids. Sadley,I am all out. But I know some of you out there have some extras. Lets help these folks out.

If you have any extra safety harnesses post them up here to get in contact with people who could use them. I don't want to start a FOR SALE thread here guys, this is someone's life we are talking about. Don't post it here unless you are willing to give it away, and likewise don't ask for one if you already have one and just want an extra. This is for people who need one.
Like I said I gave away 4 in less than 2 hours last week so I know there is a need for this. I shipped those 4 all over the country(USPS Priority Mail)and the shipping averaged about 6 bucks, ya'll can work out the shipping once you find someone who needs the harness.

Lets have a safe season this year, COME ON GUYS GET DIGGING THROUGH THAT GARAGE AND SEE WHAT YOU CAN COME UP WITH...

RE: Please Read!! Safety Harness

I've got one that came with my Big Game ladder stand. It's a two man stand and came with two harnesses, I bought my 7yo son a vest so I have one of the others still in the plastic bag. This is an adult harness. I have three stands and only use two of the harnesses, which stand dictates which one I use.

I'd rather send a harness to someone who actually needs one instead of someone who just wants anotherone. If you need a harness and don't have one, send me an email [email protected]and it's yours. Like I said, I'd rather send it to someone who doesn't have one at all.

this would be a nice "Sticky" topic for this forum...

Slo-Pitch 10-04-2007 12:54 PM

RE: Please Read!! Safety Harness

Seven: that was kind of my thought when I posted the orignal. ButI wanted to see how many replies I got before I asked for a sticky. If you Mods think this thread is worthy of it can anyone help make this a sticky?

Thanks

I have an Ameristep full body harness still in the package. If there is someone out there who would even THINK of climbing a tree without one than they sure can have it. Just make sure the need is real as I know the boy could use it in a year or so but I would rather it go to someone who would use it now.
PS... Should be a sticky. Gotta be alot of unused extra belts and harnesses out there. HUNT SAFE or don't hunt at all.

I have a couple that came with stands. I always use my rock climbing harness so the others just lie around. Let me try to round them up tonight and see how many I have.

I think what guys are doing or trying to do is great. I'm a newguy to bowhunting and just starting to stock all the gear needed. 1 new parker for me and a Diamond edge for the wife (she just had to have) money travels fast in this sport, but we are have a great time. If there are any left "hook a brother up" contact at [email protected]. thank.

Which Parker did you get? I have the Wildfire, not top of the line but way better than the bow I bought to start learning with. I like it, and as long as I don't have problems I can see brand loyalty written all over it.

I have a little Parker trailblazer XP, it a great starter bow, shots great. pulln 63# at 28.5. only been able to shot plastic deer. I want to be very comfortable before tryin the real thing. Its great, having alot of fun. hoping to go on a hog hunt ing this spring, gotta start small. This forum has been very helpful in picking a bow. I walked into Gander with a set limit and stuck to it.

I have committed the one I have so I am out of the picture. I actually got a couple of responses but only had one to give away. Surrprized there are not more people offering them up.

I gave the first emailer two shots at sending his address to get my extra and never heard back. The second emailer has a message in his inbox, send me your info so I can get it out to you.

I bought a Treestalker vest earlier tonight because I liked how easy and quick my son's is. I may have another to help someone else out soon.

Great post guys, I'll look and see. I had an extra 2 years ago and gave it to a bow hunting safty intructor along with an older climber. If you have equiptment that you don't need of any kind, call your local DNR bow or gun safty class instructors and see if they have a need or know students that might. Blaze orange, camo, arrows ect.

Gave one away yesterday and promised someone else another. I tell you, I'm spoiled with the Hunter Safety Vest. In showing my buddy how to use the one I gave him(it came with a recent stand purchase) I remembered how confusing those dang straps can be. God I'm glad I have a vest type.:D:D

[/align]I wear a harness everyday at work. Those hunting harnesses could be easier to put on. I just sent a harness out today. I plan to get a vest type soon. After my new camo, new bow and new broadheads. So maybe next year .

My dad, brother and I have hunted for several years without a harness. I guess we never really could understand paying $50 for them. I would gladly use it if i had it. [email protected] if anyone would like to send one. I feel pretty safe in a stand so no problem if you want to give em to someone else.
Thanks
Ryan
