High Winds??

I was wondering if it is really worth is to hunt when winds are about 25-30 mph gusting to 40 mph. I have never really hunted in high winds but i do no that deer get much more skitish. thanks for the help.

High winds can be a plus if you work it right. Around here, there are certain places (lee side of a steep hill, protected little hole in the prairie, etc) where animals will hang out in high winds. The wind really hides sound well for stalking and lets you move in for a close shot. Doesn't always work, but it's often a good way to concentrate the deer if you know where to look.

When the winds are up thats a good time to do a little still/stalking thru corn! Its good time to hunt just a different style of hunting!:)

In my experience the deer seemed to bed up when the winds get as strong as you stated!!!!With ever bush and tree shakin its hard for them to pick out movement and the smells are going by so fast!!!

Like Roscoe said good time to do a little stalkin if you no where they hide!!!
