Thanks, guys. I'm realizing day in and day out how much I still need to learn. One big lesson......is when NOT to hunt......OR....when to stay out of a certain area.

I'll be using my good spots less and less.....and hunting fringe locations for a while, now. So...while myday to daysightings and encounters may suffer, initially, I think (like MOHO)...the good times are yet to come. In a perfect world....I'd still be able to do my doe reduction on the fringes. We'll see.

Great stuff Jeff thanks for sharing.

3 sits, first sit 4 deer and 1 killed, 2nd sit zilch, 3rd sit 3 deer out of range in thick stuff. This is based on about 3 1/2 hours per hunt.No buck sightings as of yet. I have a really big gut feeling about this afternoons hunt though (10/1/07). Weird huh
Also if history repeats this weekend of Oct 6-7 will be a good doe weekend for me. First weekend in Oct over the years have been amazing for doe's.

Just forum fodder....with my Sept. in the books. Season opened on Sept. 8th.....and here's the overview of my season, so far.

In 17 Sits.....I have observed the following:

62 Deer....of which, 32 were Does, 6 were bucks (though only 3 different buck) and 22 were fawns.
You've seen more deer in one month than I've seen in 6 complete seasons of bowhunting! Sounds like a great spot. Keep thinning those does.

Nice, keep up the good work. If you're seeing that many does its only a matter of time (about a month and a half, at least up here in Mass) before a big buck comes running.

Keep it up and thin the herd
