Second hunt, second shot.
I got to hunt after work tonight. Got in by 4:10PM This was my 2ndhunt so farthis season from this same stand site. I killed one (doe)last Sat evening, and I got another shot tonight! It was aabout 6:30PM and the light was dwindling. A doe was feeding on the white oak acorns. I drew and released. She bolted, then faltered and raninto some real thick stuff.
I waited 20mins and then retreved my arrow. It wasbloody from thenock, 3/4 down the shaft, which was bent, and had a bent blade. I followed a sparce blood trail for a short distance (20yrds). It was dark and I didn't want to push this deer. I'll be on the trail at first light! Could this be anything other than a pass through? ![]() |

RE: Second hunt, second shot.
Usualy if it wasnt a pass through, the arrow would be broke and probably wouldnt have blood covering the fletches. Good luck finding her, dont get in the dumps about a sparce blood trail sometimes it takes a little while to get pumping good.

Thanks all. I'll let you all know how I make out in the morning. I don't think I should have any trouble. I didn't push her at all.;)

RE: Second hunt, second shot.
Good luck... all signs indicate dead deer at this point! Good judgement call.
