Game Camera with Trackers!
 

It'sjust a thought, but with all the camera that get stolen every year and with the technology we have these days would it be to much to ask??
They may already have one, but im not sure??
The only reason I can see someone has not invented this million dollar plan is that the makers of all game cams are banking on peoples cams getting stolen so they will buy another?????

I think this is a brilliant idea if it has not already been thought of!!

Defenitely a really good idea. I have had my two cameras out for 3 weeks now and I am gonig to get them tomorrow morning and I just keep my fingers crossed that they are still there. Can anyone say low jack.

Why not made a 5 digit code on the camera that you must have before it will retrieve the pics??? I mean even if a thief steals it, it would be useless without the code.

The only other thing I can see is people getting smart enough to disable the tracker before stealing, probably wouldnt take much?

But... Id say the majority of people stealing them are lowlife idiots anyhow!!!

I had one stolen two seasons ago but was lucky enough to get it back. I live in a small town and the damn troubled worthless kids have nothing better to do! Luckily I happened to know one of the lowlifes fathers that stole my camera!![:@];):D

robby thats not a bad idea either. Anything would work. The idea I have though, it would be priceless to walk up to the door of the thief or have the cops walk up!! HAHAHHAHAHA

seen the other day they have trackers that u can put on anything its tinyjust hide it inside screw it on make it look like it belongs to the cam

Rumour has it that the DCNR in Pa uses some sort of GPS traking in the cameras they put out.

That is a good idea but the people that steal cameras on private land aren't stealing to have a new gamecamera, they are taking the camera so the owner can't see who was on his land. Thecode would workforthose who are stealing to use though, that would be a good deal in that case. It would be nice to have a GPS capable game cam, like most cell phones have GPS locators.

What about putting a Lojack or what ever it is called into a camera I know they have them for lap tops.

I think it's an outstand idea but only if they could be produced for hunters inexpensively. I would put them in everything I put out and leave. I've never had anything taken but times have changed with all the stories I read on here and I find it appauling. Two things I cannot stand, liars and thieves.

Rob~~ I was wondering about the whole inexpensive thing as well??? I have looked around to see if they made anything cheaply and cannot seem to find anything reasonable??? Im just picturing small little tracking magnets or suchthat can be hidden into frames of treestands, bags, etc...?????

The camera idea I would imagine that they could solder some sort of diode, gps tracker,etc....?

Not sure about the other cam brands but the Moultrie I60 I have does require a 5 digit code to unlock it.

I've thought about making up a fake little warning tag saying something like " WARNING this camera is equipped with a GPS device, violators will be prosecuted." And attach it the the face of the camera. It might deter someone from taking it.

All you need is a gps device installed inside, have a code from the package you keep at home, then log on to a site type in your code and your camera would show its location on a map. How awesome would that be? And make it so the only way to disable the gps is too destroy the camera.

here is something i do with anything that has a plastic housing or an engrave-able surface. put "stolen from your name here, phone number___ -_____," and "ask for ID".

i had a small landscaping biz till i messed up my back, on day a guy calls and says "you left one of your weed-eaters in my yard" i check my schedule book and he was not on it, went out to my building and sure enough one of the trimmers was gone[:@]

I was just thinking of this last week when my New camera got stolen!! Man I wish I could find the scumbag who took it. $300 gone just like that! Still pissed.
