Slick Trick and G5 Striker Question
Alright, so my broadheads, mentioned in title are flying excellent. Can not complain. I do have an issue with both brands though. I am shooting Easton Axis 500's and the ends are square where the base of the broadhead sits. My issue though is that after a couple shots (sometimes 1 shot) the blades are buzzing because they are not tight in the ferrule. I am not using any kind of ring between the broadhead and shaft. I really do not see the point. The rings that come with the Slick Tricks are for alignment only. Correct? Or do they have to have a ring between the shaft and broadhead? Same scenario with the G5 Striker. Do you have to use these rings(washers) to keep the blades from getting loose in the ferrules? Help please.
Thanks, LT |
RE: Slick Trick and G5 Striker Question
G5's Strikers, yes you have to use the washer!! It's the only thing holding them in place!!
No exp on Slick tricks but would make the same assumption. |
RE: Slick Trick and G5 Striker Question
I always use the ring on my Slicks, not sure why you wouldn't. Put it back on and you should be ok, or tighten them a little more so they don't come loose after 1 shot.

RE: Slick Trick and G5 Striker Question
I ALWAYS use the ring in my ST, but besides that I also use a BH wrench to tight them up.

RE: Slick Trick and G5 Striker Question
I have always used the ring on my slick tricks as well and never had a problem with them comming loose or making a loud noise when flying through the air.

RE: Slick Trick and G5 Striker Question
Put a little wax on the threads of the BH and they won't come loose after being shot a few times. I lost a couple of BH's while they were in my quiver because they just came loose and fell out. Since I have started putting a little wax on them they stay nice and tight.

RE: Slick Trick and G5 Striker Question
you must use the ring on the slick tricks....it will solve your problem of loose blades, its what makes them tight

RE: Slick Trick and G5 Striker Question
Yeah man, if you hit probably even a rib without that washer behind the striker your possibly going to loose blades and have them rip right through the end of your arrow. Those washers are designed to prevent the blades from coming loose or coming out of the head. The strikers come with two per head and I use both.
