I have been out twice, 3 hours ther first time and t2 hours the second time. I have seen 4 total deer and have not drawn back on anything yet.

imho, if you've never been skunked while hunting you haven't been hunting long enough... everyone has bad days/seasons once in a while... i've been skunked for the whole season twice in my life... it sucked but its only cuz i passed on filling my tag to allow some young 'uns grow up... good chance I took them a couple seasons later given the land/area i frequent... or at least someone in my family did... :D

Wow, how times have changed. I went years without killing a deer when I first started, and that was with a gun. Now we want one within the first 4 hunts? Instant gratification strikes again. Not to bust your chops but relax. Enjoy the whole hunt and don't be so blood thirsty that you feel you have to have a kill on the first outing. I wonder how many guys today would still be hunting if they had to deal with the deer numbers we did when I was young and even more when guys like davidml was starting out.

Season doesn't start until Oct 6 here in VA. But, just as a matter of perspective, the overall average success rate for getting a deer with a bow here in VA is only about 30%, which works out to about one deer every three years with a bow. I don't know where you hunt or what the success ratio is there, but any day hunting is better than a day in the office/shop/factory, etc.!

I've been out7 times4sits had does/small bucks within shooting range that offered shots1sit seen large buck not in range 2 sits of not seeing anything.

Ive been hunting two days since the TN opener and not scored anything.

Out 3 mornings and one evening, but have not seen a deer yet. Opening morning, my buddy hunting the same private land saw 4 does and one fawn and that evening took a doe.
I am not concerned as my season only gets better as October rolls around, as things heat up and the boys start moving. ;)

Well it must be nice to be out hunting lol, season doesn't open til oct 13 in wv. This will be my ninth season and have only killed three deer with my bow, and its not because I was passing up any shots.
